Annotation:
The article reviews the principles of portrayal and evaluation of historical events (primarily revolutions and civil war) in the novel "Don’t interrupt the dead" by the modern Tatar writ- er, TV journalist and cinematographer Salavat Yuzeev (2015). The facts of history, real and fictional, appear in the form of recorded memories of the hero, emigrant, philosopher and scientist, whose fate is closely bound with the catastrophic events of the 20th century, and are transformed in the space of national myths and legends. The presentation of the material in the novel is marked by the synthesis of the document, myth and author's fiction, and is enriched by means of compositional techniques and elements of film language.
