ABOUT THE CONCEPT OF CULTURE

The concept of culture is both important and ambiguous. In the article we discuss the ba-sic features of cultural phenomena by integrating the basic views of cultural scientists Ernst Cassirer, Leslie A. White and Raymond Williams and define the concept of culture. The new concept of culture is structurally more complete, taxonomically and conceptually more accurate, able to embody interactive mechanism of subcultures and cultural phenomena because diverse research fields take “culture” as a core concept. We argue that the essence of culture is threefold: creation, consumption and feedback, development. Based on this we tried to construct a tentative theory of culture.
