Based on the results of research carried out in 2009-2012 we have characterized chemical composition of soil on the territory of gas-condensate deposit development (on the exam- ple of the southern part of Ust-Kut district). An analysis of soil contamination in the study area showed an increased content of chemical elements in soil-forming rocks that belong to two classes of toxicity — Zn, Pb (Icl) and Cr (IIcl.). The content of oil products in soils there is lower than sanitary and hygienic standards prescribe, but higher than in the adja- cent territories. The background content of phenols for different soil types is from 0.14 to 0.98 mg / kg. Soils of settlements are in a good ecological state; this is connected with poor development of the territory due to severe climatic conditions.
