Annotation:
The article presents the experience of identifying lexical-semantic variants on the material of the words of the modern Buryat language expressing human mental activity. The key word for this work is the Buryat word ukhaan ‘mind’, which is a simple word and a component of the compound. The material of analysis, which is corpus data, is a list of contexts in the amount of more than 500 cases with the required lexical units related to mental vocabulary. This material is divided into groups according to lexico-semantic variants based on the analysis of contexts and their own compatibility, otherwise, the compatibility of the desired vocabulary units with other words of similar meaning. Such a grouping makes it possible to identify both the frequency of lexico-semantic variants and the specifics of their plan of expression. Along with this, the features of the definition and refinement of lexical-semantic variants are revealed.
