BURYAT PAREMIC IDIOMS AS LANDMARKS OF THE TRADITIONAL BURYAT THINKING AND BEHAVIOR

The article discusses the Buryat paremic idioms containing ethno-oriented values. Paremic idioms are closely related to the concept and linguistic world view. The linguistic world view as reality conceptualization and categorization is shaped by such important factors as climate, living conditions, occupation, traditions and customs. Paremiс units, being a part of the linguistic world view, reflect cultural values and national mentality. This paper analyzes the units, filled with ethnocultural meanings and expressing unique values, which determine verbal and non-verbal behavior of the Buryat people. Such analysis allows to some extent reveal the cultural identity and basic guidelines of the traditional Buryat thinking and behavior.
