The article reviews paremiological worldview in the novel «Cruel Cen- tury» by I. Kalashnikov. The author makes an attempt to reveal the in- ner form of the Mongolian proverbs, as well as aphoristic expressions using cognitive, linguistic and cultural approaches. On the material of Buryat (Mongolian) proverbs and sayings one can trace specific cultur- al and mental traits of Mongolian peoples imprinted in them.
