Annotation:
On the example of analysis of young girl’s image the author reviews the question of V. Nabokov’s orientation to Russian literature experi- ence, in particular artistic experience of N. Gogol. The article shows Nabokov’s succession in development of certain Gogol’s artistic world trends in novels “Mashenka”, “Pinhole Camera”, “Gift”: portrait de- scription of a hero, type of demonic young girl, plot features, idealized hero image. The article reveals differences between Nabokov and Gogol.
