Annotation:
This article discusses one of the modern approaches to the analysis of pieces of the famous playwright from the second half of the 19-th century, A. N. Ostrovsky from po- sitions identify relationships of his characters to god, their religious people's worldviews and spiritual values. From the drama «Family picture» (1847) until the last works 1870- ies there has been selection writer such spiritual values such as faith, love, family, chari- ty, patience, penance, forgiveness. Different perception of god heroes works shown in the drama "Thunderstorm". The subjects of many of his plays are in the stable «formu- la»: «care – return», «gap – connection», «offense – reconciliation», «sin – repentance». A. N. Ostrovsky depicted the traditional way of life of the Russian people, their way of life, established principles of faith.
