Annotation:
Russian literature is an insatiable source of spiritual values. A reader will realize them when he/she meditates carefully about what he reads. At current stage of people’s development, a new-type reader is being shaped: reading is no more a natural thing for him/her. Modern technology, upgrading every day, have led not only to books lacking demand, but also to their being denied. According to the new Russian Federal State Educational Standard, the pupils are supposed to learn in Literature class how to be active readers. A modern pupil has to not only read literary works assigned by the program, but also to learn to choose books for reading independently, which proves that he/she needs to develop the reader’s aesthetic taste. Consequently, teaching a pupil to be a thoughtful reader is one of most important ob- jectives of modern Literature class.
