This article presents the results of an analysis of the quantitative characteristics of Mongoli- an short and long vowels pronounced in isolation and in the context of coherent text in the performance of six speakers — carriers of the modern Khalkha-Mongolian language. The reading material was an authentic text from the work of the Mongolian writer S. Buyanne mekh “Алсыгзорьсоналтанзагас» (Goldfishes, rushing to distant lands). On the basis of the conducted research, the author supplements, concretizes previously existing information on the variability of the quantitative characteristics of Mongolian short and long vowels. Vladimirtsov, N. N. Poppe, G. D. Sanzheev, B. Rinchen, S. Luvsvantvandan, E. Vanduy, J. Tsoloo, S. Moomoo, T. Pagwa, J. Sanjaa, S. Galsan, V. M. Nadelyaev, B. Kh. Todaeva, I. Zolkhoev, J.-O.
