Annotation:
The article is devoted to the problem of code-switching in the Buryat-Russian discourse, in particular, to the study of the lexico-morphological features of the Buryat-Russian code- switching. Code-switching occurs when a speaker alternates between two or more languages in the context of a single conversation. Multilinguals, speakers of more than one language, sometimes use elements of multiple languages when conversing with each other. Thus, code-switching is the use of more than one language. Switching the code (CS) is usually a functionally conditioned transition in spoken or written speech from one language to anoth- er, in our language situation — the transition from Buryat to Russian and vice versa. By itself switching the code is a complex phenomenon and therefore there are many controversial issues and different points of view on this issues. And any new material, in particular our material can be helpful in the analysis of this phenomenon.
Keywords:
Buryat-Russian bilingualism, switching of codes, spontaneous speech, adaptation mechanism.
