Annotation:
In school education, new approaches to teaching, to the teaching methods of a particular subject are welcomed. One of the modern approaches to the teaching of such a school subject as literature is hermeneutic, which enhances the intellectual level of schoolchildren, contributing to the development of plasticity and mobility of their thinking. The hermeneutical method provides great opportunities for using the potential that it contains. Especially great value is the understanding of ourselves through fiction by our modern schoolchildren to become them as adequate, harmonious, successful personalities. It is in literature lessons that the hermeneutic method can become the main means of achieving this goal. In the arti- cle features of the hermeneutic method in the educational space are considered: the main moments and difficulties arising in the process of introducing this method in the lesson, the possibility of using this method in literature lessons in secondary school.
