PRECEDENT NAMES IN LIU ZHENYUN'S NOVEL "I AM NOT PAN JINLIAN"

The article is devoted to the functioning of the name of a real historical person, as well as well-known names of literary heroes of classical works of China in the novel of modern Chinese writer Liu Zhenyun "I am not Pan Jinlian". These names are used by the author to not to refer to specific people, but as nominal images used to reveal certain qualities, fea- tures of heroes of the novel "I am not Pan Jinlian", to clarify or to describe the events of the novel. In modern linguistics, the term "precedent name" has been introduced to denote such names, which refers to a precedent phenomenon, along with a precedent situation, a prece- dent statement and a precedent text. Pan Jinlian, Dou E, Xiao Baicai as precedent names are repeatedly found in the novel, Liu Zhenyun also used mythical characters like Sun Wukong, Nezha, Bai Suzhen as nominal images but less frequently or once.
