Annotation:
The article is devoted to new words from the cognitive point of view. Cognitive neology is being developed alongside with other approaches in Neology. Cognitive approach might be of help to find answers to some problems in Neology, how new names appear and how new meanings develop in words, in particular, among them. Aims and methods used in Neology are touched upon in the article. Which fragments of the world are conceptualized and verbalized in the form of new words is in the focus of the article. New words are under analysis to study derivational patterns in modern English.
