Annotation:
This article is devoted to the study of color in prose V.S. Vysotsky. His stories are chosen as an object of study. The aspect of research is linguistic. The color picture of the world in the lyrics of V.S. Vysotsky was the subject of study of researchers, while the coloring of prose remained outside of scientific attention.

Analysis of the vocabulary of color in the stories of V.S.Vysotsky allowed to define the hierarchy of colors, to reveal the types of colourms from the point of view of structure, form and meaning. The stories are dominated by achromatic absolute colors. Basically, these are single-basic adjectives, used in the direct sense. In contrast to the lyrics of V.S. Vysotsky does not seek to pile up color images, to complicate linguistic means. The writer draws the world with ordinary colors and simple syllable describes the surrounding reality, thereby making his work accessible, close, interesting for a wide range of audiences.
