It will take several years before tourism sector recover from the financial damage caused by COVID-19. According to the UNWTO, in 2020 the number of international trips has decreased by 74%. The pandemic and restrictions adopted by the countries international tourist flow decreased by 1 billion trips compared to 2019 [4].
Thailand's tourism industry was no exception, before COVID-19 it brought the country $96.5 billion and provided employment of 8.5 million people. In 2020, the number of for- eign tourists fell from 40 million to 7 million, leaving 2 million to 4 million people unem- ployed. More than a third of tourism businesses have closed. After all, the Tourism Authori- ty of Thailand has developed a new strategy to recover from the crisis and restore tourism industry in the post-pandemic period [3].
