ANALYSIS OF THE LEVEL OF REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT IN THE FAR EASTERN FEDERAL DISTRICT BASED ON THE “HUMAN DEVELOPMENT INDEX”

Currently, the level of regional development is important for social and economic sustainability, as well as for improving the living standards of the population. In order to maintain the above aspects at the level required by each region of the country, it is necessary to analyze the level of development of certain regions using various approaches. Analysis of the level of regional development of the Far Eastern Federal District based on the Human Potential Index makes it possible to consider the situation in the regions, as well as its’ individual problems and opportunities. The study presents the calculation of the Human Potential Index and the ranking of the Far Eastern Federal District regions based on the results obtained, as well as the comparison of these results with the gross regional product.
