Annotation:
The article considers the organizational and legal framework for the activities of deputies of the municipal authorities in the Republic of Buryatia. It is noted that the vast majority of municipal representatives serve on a part-time basis. Open group discussions with municipal deputies have revealed key organizational and legal issues, including a lack of legal awareness, imperfect legislation and municipal regulations on the legal status of deputies. Based on an analysis of legislation and municipal legal acts defining the legal status of municipal representatives and establishing guarantees for the exercise of their powers, we have considered several forms of deputy activity: deputy hour (deputy control hour), deputy inquiry, deputy appeal, constituent mandates, etc.
