The article presents the results of a comprehensive study on the economy of small- scale farming in the agribusiness sector of Krasnodar Krai. Using a composite performance index, DEA, and SFA analysis for a sample of 150 small-scale farms, we have evaluated the components of their production, economic and social activity, provided rationale for improving state support with account of the 2024–2027 tax reform, including alternative financial instruments, regulatory sandbox mechanism, and targeted subsidies. The study also presents an investment valuation of the digital transformation of a typical small-scale farm (80 hectares), calculations of NPV, IRR and discounted payback period. We have developed an organizational and economic model of a new type of "smart cooperation" and a digitalization roadmap based on a "short supply chain" platform, as well as identified ways for enhancing human resource capacity and applying circular technologies.
