Annotation:
The article analyzes the motivation of educational activity in the system of higher education. In the context of optimization in the modern condi- tions of the educational process, conclusions on the determinants of the decrease in the level of motivation of the subject of receiving education- al services are formulated on the basis of sociological research. Classifi- cation of external and internal motivation of educational activity of the subject is considered. Conclusions and suggestions on improving the quality of motivation for the subject's educational activities are formu- lated. As an increase in the motivation of educational activity, key direc- tions of the methodology of scientific knowledge are studied using the example of legal education.
