Annotation:
The problem of the forming of intellectual skills of students is very actual in the conditions of modernization of Russian education. The author analyzes the results of the psychological and pedagogical monitoring, which was attend- ed by 603 students at the age of 11–15 years. These studies reveal low level of intellectual skills development, verbal-logical type of thinking of rural school- children. The model of the formation of intellectual skills subject to person- al and ethnic peculiarities of rural students based on the analysis of the con- ducted research is represented. According to the article, steps to formation of intellectual skills are diagnostic, motivational and target, informative and ac- tivity, evaluative and reflexive. Suggested criteria for intellectual skills are mo- tivational, intellectual, individual and indicators that allow to assess the level of development of intellectual skills of students at any stage of learning
