The article analyzes the criteria for demarcating informational messages. The importance of developing a culture of information hygiene and countering the manipula- tive effects of fake news and deepfakes is justified in connection with the high virulence of contemporary informational threats. The authors do not differentiate by age groups. Public tasks of information security are considered based on the Doctrine of Information Security and the National Security Strategy of the Russian Federation. Among the most significant, the authors highlight the following: increasing the information security of the environ- ment; improving the regulatory framework, means, and methods of ensuring information security; protecting the rights and freedoms of individuals and citizens enshrined in the Constitution; preparing and conducting educational activities. The authors see significant potential in the successful demarcation of content in the prevention of radicalism and ex- tremism, especially among children and youth, in preventing the spread of extremist mate- rials, promoting violence and intolerance, interethnic strife, and in preventing and neutral- izing social, interfaith, and interethnic conflicts. To prevent informational threats, the pro- tection and preservation of historical memory, as well as strengthening the position of Russian mass media and communication in the global information space, play a significant role.
