IN UNITY THERE IS STRENGTH (FROM THE PRACTICE OF BAIKAL–AMUR MAINLINE CONSTRUCTION)

The article deals with the problems of constructing Buryat sector of the Baikal– Amur Mainline (BAM). We have analyzed the key motives for the construction of broad- gauge railway line, its transformation into a national project, forms and methods of involving representatives of all national and socio-class communities and groups of the country in its building, discussed social, spiritual and moral problems of BAM workers, inclusion of scientific divisions of Buryatia in solving production and socio-cultural issues in the places of constructing the mainline. The article has shows the practice of building cities and urban-type settlements on the BAM, their improvement and careful attitude to the ecology of the area in question. All this was created by the joint efforts of Russians.
