The article analyzes the role of Ulanfu (1906–1988) in China's people's liberation war against Japan and the revolutionary political movement in China. Ulanfu made an invaluable contribution to the creation of the Autonomous Region of Inner Mongolia, which was officially established on May 1, 1947. Ulanfu took an active part in organizing, strengthening and developing a stronghold in Northeast China and liberating this territory from Japanese invaders. Period from 1946 to 1949 occupies a special place in recent Chinese history. In those years the fate of the country was decided, its further development in the new geopolitical conditions. In this regard, the national liberation movement in Inner Mongolia, which had a great influence on the development of the country, was of strategic importance. After the proclamation of the PRC Ulanfu continued his activities involving the issues of national policy. The study covers the early stages of Ulanfu's life, when the People's Liberation War, the proclamation of the People's Liberation Army and the People's Republic of China took place.
