POSITIONS IN GOMANG DATSAN OF DREPUNG MONASTERY

The article is devoted to the description of administrative positions in the Buddhist monastery. Buddhist monasticism is one of the earliest forms of organized religious monas- ticism. Nowadays, Drepung Monastery is the largest Buddhist monastery of the Gelukpa school. Drepung Goman Monastery had greatly influenced the formation of Buddhist mo- nastic communities among the Mongolian-speaking peoples. The article discusses the duties of khambo, geko, umzad, nerpā, chagdzo and other positions in datsan.
