Policies to Crime Prevention Involving Information and Communication Technologies (Based on Materials From the Republic of Buryatia)

The article highlights key strategies for combating information and telecommunications crimes. The authors utilize working materials such as victim statements, internal departmental statistics, and directives and orders from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Buryatia to present a comprehensive picture of information and telecommunications crimes committed in the region. The measures to combat such crimes are described, along with the preventive efforts aimed at curbing cybercrime. The article demonstrates the structure of preventive work designed to prevent cybercrimes. The authors emphasize that criminal activities involving information and telecommunications technologies often involve complex criminal networks that remain insufficiently studied and require significant sociological and legal analysis as a new social phenomenon of the modern world.
