The contemporary international situation is rapidly evolving, becoming increasingly unstable and unpredictable. Major transitions and shifts are occurring in international relations and geopolitics. Local conflicts, influenced by adverse military- political factors, escalate into acute phases, further deteriorating and complicating the global security environment. Northeast Asia is no exception, as it continues to face a geopolitical landscape shaped by the remnants of the “Cold War”. While the region includes economically developed and relatively well-integrated countries, it lacks effective mechanisms for building trust and cooperation in the sphere of security. Currently, Northeast Asia is regarded as a region with a high likelihood of conflicts arising from territorial disputes.
