Influence of the People’s Republic of China on the Development of International Law Norms

The article studies the participation of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) in universal and regional international organizations. It assesses China’s influence on the development of international legal norms, explores the directions of Chinese-law-making activities within the UN, WTO, SCO, and BRICS, as well as the features of forming the Chinese concept of international law. Particular attention is paid to the transformation of China’s role from an object of international regulation to an active subject of global norm- making. The article concludes that China’s impact on the foundations of modern international law is systematic.
