Annotation:
The article deals with social, psychological and pedagogical conditions for develop- ment readiness of senior schoolchildren for situations of fire risk, considers the need for fire safety skills training for youth, which is a priority for society. This problem can be solved only through formation of safety culture. The role of schools in inculca- tion of safe behavior rules for children is emphasized. We identify the forms of class and extracurricular activities that contribute to preparedness of children for safe beha- vior in emergency situations, analyze the work in this area in educational process of school and educational activities in out-of-school hours. The statistical data on fires and their consequences are given. We have defined the components of children’s safe- ty behavior, organizational and methodological measures for their implementation, as well as aspects of professional orientation of youth in the field of security. A compre- hensive approach to organizational and methodological activities ensures safety beha- vior of children. We offered the methods of improvement fire safety skills training for senior schoolchildren.
