The article deals with the specifics of practical shooting training. Today, there is an urgent problem of preparation highly qualified athletes in "Practical Shooting", who are able to com- pete with the strongest shooters at the championships of Russia, Europe and the World. In the context of this problem, based on the analysis of literary sources, questionnaires and compet- itive activities of the strongest shooters in Russia, we propose a modern model of preparedness of practical shooting athletes. The model is based on key types of preparedness that affect the success of competitive activities in practical shooting: physical, technical, tactical, psycho- logical. In shooting functional indicators are not so important as the level of technical and tactical training. The presented model has made it possible to determine the specific tasks for practical shooting training and to choose the appropriate means and methods of their imple- mentation, as well as load rates.
