The article summarizes the materials collected by the author during numerous ex- peditions around Lake Baikal and the coasts. Using the example of Lake Baikal and the ad- jacent natural areas — the Sayans, Cisbaikalia and Transbaikalia, he revealed in detail the most revered places of worship that have become objects of pilgrimage and mass visits.
