The problem of air pollution in the Republic of Buryatia has become relevant for the last decades. The growth in the number of residents of the capital of Buryatia — Ulan- Ude, the increase of suburban settlements, where inhabitants are heated mainly by coal and firewood, as well as the growth in the number of motor vehicles per capita contribute to the aggravation of the problem of air pollution by various chemicals, including heavy metals. The article attempts to monitor the problem of air pollution in Buryatia and in its largest settlement — the city of Ulan-Ude. We have analyzed the materials and scientific reports of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Republic of Buryatia, revealed the dynamics of pollutant emission into the atmosphere by stationary sources with a breakdown into municipal districts and the city of Ulan-Ude (from 2016 to 2020), and pollutant emission into the atmosphere separately for each type of economic activity in thousand tons (from 2017 to 2020), monitor the amount of emitted pollutants of 4–5 hazard classes in 2020. Based on the results of the data obtained, we have compiled the relevant cartographic materials presented in the article.
