Annotation:
The article studies such a category of families as low-income families. We have emphasized the alarming trend of increasing the number of low-income families, and made an attempt to determine the reasons and factors influencing this destructive social process. Low-income families are the result of the current economic and political situation in the country, which influences the weakened strata of the population, in particular families. In realities of the modern world not only socially vulnerable categories of families (multi-child, single-parent households), but also relatively well-to-do families that for whatever reason could not adapt to the crisis and market conditions, often find themselves below the poverty line. Most of poor families in Russia are employable parents with children.
