The article considers the current macroeconomic situation, the forecast of indicators (gross domestic product, consumer price index, nominal wages) in the context of the impact on household sustainability. In Russia, a balance of population distribution by place of permanent residence between urban and rural areas has been achieved at around 3:1, which corresponds to the global trends. We have revealed the growing interest of households to the dacha settlement not only as a place of seasonal residence, recreation, work in a distance (remote) mode, but also as a platform for ensuring food security. In the medium term we can expect the trend of consolidating a distributed lifestyle in the coordinates "apartment" — "individual house, house in a dacha settlement". Within its framework, it is possible to realize the growing demand of households for alternative places of their activities.
