The article discusses the issues of evaluating and managing the system stability of business entities through the example of energy supply enterprises of OAO “Russian Railways”.
We have studied the conceptual apparatus and historical dynamics of the key stability categories of complex active socio-economic systems, and defined system state as a set of characteristics with certain parameters and ability to identify the values of the parameters in a stable state (equilibrium) and permissible deviations from it.
For economic entity, which is an active complex socio-economic system, the boundaries of system stability are accepted as normative both for a given stage of the life cycle and for a given period of time. In light of this, systemic stability is understood as the ability of an economic entity to maintain operational functions and process parameters and ensure the implementation of the target function. This approach to the interpretation of system stability allows us to evaluate and manage it in relation to the set goal.
The article presents an approach to evaluating and managing the system stability of a subdivision of the energy complex of OAO “Russian Railways” using the sample method to determine the state of equilibrium (stability) and stability zones. The applied part of the approach is demonstrated by the possibility of calculations based on a database and a developed prototype of an information and management system, which allow making management decisions.
