Annotation:
The level of region’s economic development largely depends on the efficiency of functioning of economic sectors on its territory. Another important factor is its investment attractiveness. In turn, it will contribute to the development of the region’s economy due its multiplier effect. The article is aimed at analyzing the attractiveness of the prerequisites for the investment potential development of the agro-industrial complex of Zabaikalsky Krai. The objectives of the study are to determine the leading factors of investment potential and their role in attracting foreign and domestic investors to the region. The article presents an analysis of investment attractiveness of the agro-industrial sector of the region’s economy. We have identified the most significant factors contributing to attracting investment funds to the economy of Zabaikalsky Krai. The study lays emphasis on the transboundariness of the region's territory and its significance for development, as well as its transitivity, which determines the need for the development of logistics infrastructure for effective functioning of the region's economy. The results of the study led us to the conclusion that Zabaikalsky Krai has significant potential for attracting funds from investors in agricultural sector of the economy. This is facilitated by the advantageous geographical location, good neighborly relations with China and Mongolia, the neighbor with a powerful economy, which can act as an investor and a consumer of manufactured products, huge areas of agricultural land, including unused ones with the prospect of further introduction into circulation. An assessment of the attractiveness of various agricultural objects has already been carried out by local authorities, which will greatly simplify the procedure for attracting investors to the region.
