High cross-country differentiation is not possible to stabilize the socio-economic indi- cators for all countries of the world. Economic growth depends on the level of education and the rate of return to education, so the analysis of the impact of higher education is important for every university around the world. The article deals with higher education in the Republic of Buryatia. The analysis of the effectiveness of higher education insti- tutions, taking into account factors influence the competitive environment economic and mathematical model of education indicators have been proposed to assess the quality characteristics of the factors of influence on the educational process and the impact of it. The model analyzes the impact of higher education and proposing measures to increase the efficiency of universities.
