Annotation:
The article deals with the modeling of regional socio-economic development, describes the methodology of modeling and forecasting in the framework of a SED (socio-economic devel- opment) programme. We have considered the existing methods of simulation modeling, their advantages and disadvantages in comparison to other methods. The article also studies the regional labor market, because labor resources are a basis for full-fledged development of the region. We have modeled the dynamics of total workforce in the Republic of Buryatia, and revealed the trends of this dynamics according to sex and education.
