SAVING BEHAVIOR OF THE POPULATION OF RUSSIA IN THE 1990s AND 20 YEARS LATER

The article presents a comparative analysis of the results of saving behavior research among the population of Russia in the 1990s and the present. We have came to the conclusion, that despite the ongoing changes in the economy and economic policy instruments, saving behav- ior of the population has not changed radically: they still feel unsecure about the future, have some paternalistic expectations, and the proportion of poor people has not reduced. Therefore, it is necessary to carefully study the factors of the population's savings behavior in order to develop an integral state policy aimed at formation of its appropriate patterns.
