Rapprochement between East and West raises a number of issues, the first of the them concerns coincidence of personal development and personal achievements with a contemplative way to discover wider awareness, to stay deep inside ourselves. To date, there is no consensus on range of influence of meditation and psychotherapy. Their understanding continues to change, and is not easily reduced to final answers. The difficulty is partly lies in the fact that the both concepts are used too freely and applied to a different range of practical methods, so discussions on them often turn out to be not very sub- stantial.
