Annotation:
The article deals with the problem of development and transformation of the Bashkir national elite during the past 20th century. The revolution and national movements provided a background for the creation of national elites of the indigenous peoples of Russia, including Bashkirs. There was a powerful cohort of the national elite. However, this elite was almost completely disappeared during the repressions of the 1930s. It was replaced by the party nomenklatura. The article shows the common destiny of the elites of the national republics developed in the first years after the revolution of 1917 and then wronged by the political repressions of the 1930s. There was a deep gap between the elites of the revolution of 1917 and those that replaced them. We revealed the qualitative insufficiency of the Bashkir policy elite and aristocracy of talent in the Soviet period.
