CREATION OF LITERARY BIOGRAPHY OF BURYAT WRITER AS A THEORETICAL PROBLEM

The article proves the need for historical and theoretical analysis of the genre of a writer’s scientific biography on the material of the literary process in the Republic of Buryatia. The authors review the problems of creation of scientific biography in provincial literary discourse. The main stages of comprehension of this genre in domestic science and foreign criticism are highlighted. The analysis of theoretical works shows the difficulty in determining the peculiar- ities of this genre as a synthesis of scientific biography with the elements of a literary portrait. The experience of the biographical description of life and creativity of writers in the litera- ture of Buryatia puts the authors in front of the overdue problem in determining the type of writing personality in terms of biography. It is argued that one of the key problems should be the question of bilingualism as the existence of a writer at the intersection of various national traditions, which is typical for regional writers of the 20th-21st centuries and important for the creation of a full biography. The creativity of bilingual or Russian-speaking Buryat writers can be explained, among other things, by biographical factors, by awareness of their native national identity. As a result, an important methodological conclusion is made, dictated by the challenges of time: it is important not just to study some cultural code of the writer’s person- ality, but to find the internal biography of the writer as an act of gradual self-determination, self-knowledge, which makes it a historical personality.
