Annotation:
The article reviews the words of Mongolic languages combined by an attribute ‘sticky’ with root consonants [l/l’]. Usage of this consonant in the process of verbalization of such an attribute is universal. On the base of psychophysiology data the author reveals interrelation between phonemes [l/l’] and meaning of words. It has been found that implementation of the attribute ‘sticky’ is connected with such articulation characteristics of phonemes [l/l’] as the adherence of the tongue and the palate. The lexemes reviewed in the article reflect the pecu- liarities of the sensual and figurative way of knowing the world. Further research in this direc- tion could reveal sound-symbolic meanings of lexemes with phonemes [l/l’] which contain information not only about surface properties, but also about the shape of the object, dynamic states, psychological and other characteristics.
