Annotation:
Many protagonists in literature by Native American writers move toward healing. These healing journeys often lead to the discovery of special centered spaces that empower cha- racters to balance the world design. Concrete grounding strategies, shared to varying degrees by all these writers, include images related to the cardinal directions, a circular plot that returns the character home, and a circular textual design.
