Annotation:
The article reviews the poems "The Fate of the Sacred Mountains" (1921), "Letter to the Father" (1928) by the Yakut writer A.I. Sofronov-Alamp (1886–1935) from the standpoint of the poet's contribution to the development of their lyric-epic nature. The author notes the connection of the poem "The Fate of the Sacred Mountains" with the olonkho aesthet- ics and the reflection in its composition of the properties of the author's personality. So- fronov's active participation in the fate of an ethnos experiencing historical rifts of time was expressed in the form of a dialogue between mythological heroes, turning into the lyr- ical confession of a contemporary hero. The opinion is expressed that the influence on readers of the author's ideas and thoughts in an allegorical form is more significant than in a direct statement about real events. In the poem "Letter to the Father", the actualization of the problems arising in people's life under the influence of a difficult transitional time is manifested in the confession of the lyric hero, who is concerned with everyday and onto- logical problems - a person's duty, his personal moral choice, which affects genre and compositional features. The image of time is presented in psychological details and pic- tures of the lyrical hero's life, reflecting on the place of a person in society. The conclusion is drawn about the epic essence of the lyric drama of the hero and the author, which re- flects both the real-historical context and the existential meaning.
