Annotation:
The article explains the concept of mythocentrism in Buryat literature based on the analy- sis of traditions and their origins. Some research studies by ethnographers and folklorists allow us to put forward and reveal the thesis about archaic nature of Buryat mythology. The preservation of mythological views among Buryats nowadays became possible due to practicing shamanism rituals in everyday life and their implementation in various genres of folk art. Buryat epic tradition is the most important layer that ensured the functioning of mythopoetic views, with mythologization of history being one of its components. The au- thor reveals the mythopoetic basis of Buryat riddles, songs-spells and animal songs. In the development of Buryat literature, mythopoetics is considered as one of important factors in recreating the ethnic worldview. The author defines the aspects of mythopoetics re- search in the works of Buryat literary scholars who study the interaction between folklore and literature. The author traces the poetics of the myth in the semantics of the titles in classical works of Buryat literature, revealing the implementation of the mythological lay- er in the novels of various genres. The author considers the embodiment of mythological images and motifs in literary works about hunting, and traces the development of hunting story genre general features. The discussion of environmental issues by Buryat writers is directly related to the realization of traditional beliefs. The field of Buryat writers' myth- making in Buryat literature is defined as a promising direction of studying mythopoetics in Buryat literature.
