Annotation:
The article reviews the theme of destruction of natural life which was actively developed in Russian prose in the second half of the 20th and in early 21st centuries, by Valentin Ras- putin and Roman Senchin. The writers focus on the tragic consequences of invasion of civilization into the traditional way of life of local residents and the ecosystem of sur- rounding sraces. The industrial development of Siberian lands, the construction of hydroe- lectric power plants and destroying natural primordiality are all symbols of an ontological catastrophe.
