Annotation:
The article reviews the prosaic cycle "Kazan Fairy Tales" by the modern Tatar writer and director Salavat Yuzeev in the context of the literary and fairy tale tradition. The specificity of the work is noted both at the level of macropoetics (compositional structure, similar to the structure of oriental framed stories) and at the level of micropoetics (episodes, details). Turning to the fairytale tradition gives the writer the opportunity to fantastically rethink the real tragic events of history, namely the Kazan campaigns of Ivan the Terrible in 1545-1552, since the fairy tale has a timeless nature of existence and is present in the treasury of the spiritual culture of every nation. It is concluded that Kazan Fairy Tales continue the traditions of the author's literary fairy tale, which is figuratively, plot and stylistically related to folklore, but modernizes it.
