Annotation:
The article deals with the problems of translating Fyodor Dostoevsky’s works into the Mongolian language. The first translated novel was “The Poor Folk” (1956). In 2010–2020 Ch. Baatar, D. Tsakhilgaan, D. Baasanzhargal, D. Zhinbayar, H. Erdembi- leg translated such works as "Crime and Punishment", "Notes from the Underground", "Mr. Prokharchin", "Polzunkov", "An Honest Thief", "Christmas Tree and Wedding", "A Little Hero", "A Beggar", "The Gambler". It is noted the complexity of translating Fyodor Dostoevsky’s works into Mongolian because of the significant difference between the Russian and Mongolian mentality and worldview. The emphasis is also placed on overcoming complex religious and cultural problems of interpreting the writer's texts, as well as on the work of stage managers whose films and performances have appeared recently and needed to be translated.
