Annotation:
The theme of the family is of particular importance in Russian culture, and mod- ern Russian fiction is no exception. In the article we focus on the theme of the family cri- sis touched upon in the works by modern Russian writers and playwrights — V. Rasputin, Ekimov, S. Lobozerov, Z. Prilepin, R. Senchin, A. Ivanov, L. Ulitskaya, T. Tolstaya, Ya. Pulinovich, E. Isaeva, V. Shergina and others. Many contemporary authors are of tra- ditional ideas about the family, they regret that the patriarchal family today is in the deep- est crisis and gradually falls into oblivion. A new type of family is coming to replace, where children grow up in fatherless or motherless households without adequate moral support. Literary artists associate transformation of the institution of the family with the civilizational development of today's society, and globalization processes.
